Responsibilities:
The Assistant Microbiologist is responsible for the microbiological analysis of water, wastewater, hazardous waste, and food samples Job Duties:
Perform Microbiological tests on environmental and food-related samples Read, record, and understand sample results Notify and explain results to clients Batch and enter data into the laboratory database LIMS Peer review analytical data and maintain quality control data Perform other duties such as media preparation, routine incubator and equipment maintenance, and entering sample receipt information into the LIMS Requirements:
BA or BS degree in Microbiology, Biology, or other related science degree Prefer some experience 6 mos.
to 1 yr.
working in a microbiology laboratory Must be familiar w/ laboratory equipment and the preparation of chemical solutions Possess ability to evaluate and offer solutions to improve/streamline processes Strong communication both written and verbal Computer knowledge LIMS, Word, Excel, etc.
