Company Description Job Description SQL Server reports developer using SSRS 2008/2012.
Main focus of this position will be to support SSRS and act as a backup to the Sr.
DBA for database administration as needed.
This is an excellent opportunity to learn the DBA functions on the job as the position entails 80% reporting and 20% DBA backup.
Skills At least 3-5 years Microsoft SQL Server.
Experience with SQL Server 2008 ( 2012 A+) Experience in Reporting Services (SSRS) 2008 (2012 A+).
MCDBA Certification a strong plus.
Must possess excellent communication skills for team projects and client communication.
Strong analytical skills for problem resolution, database and SQL performance tuning and backups.
Hands on experience in Transactional, log-shipping and mirroring replication.
Ability to configure SQL server with the best practices of storage performance standards.
Works independently with little or no direct supervision and manages timelines and task priorities Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills Meets with customers (end-users), analyze business and data requirements for reporting, translating requirements into data modeling for report content Works with and communicate effectively with customers at all levels of the organizations
Responsibilities:
Act in production support role, including database backup/restore, managing security, general database maintenance tasks.
Deployment/support of database applications through product lifecycle (dev/test/prod) Conduct performance tuning and query optimization.
Must understand query execution plans Export and import data to/from various formats including delimited raw/text file, MS-Excel, XML, SQL Server, MS-Access.
Ability to transfer data between various databases using SSIS.
Maintain and monitor database backups and rotating archives of backup files Conduct daily database server health checks for backups, jobs, mirroring, replication, etc.
Monitor and profile production database servers for load and performance tuning bottlenecks Analyze and approval of database schema and procedure changes from dev to staging to production environments Write and update advanced stored procedures for business reporting purposes Coordinate with the Network Administer & Developers to ensure data security & availability and meet the necessity of database refresh in development/staging environment.
