Retail - Market Sales and Product Expert - REI (Arcadia, CA)

THE JOB:
' Supports local market stores with store visits, training, and coordination with Management ' Role models and emulates SST practices within the sales specialist role approximately 50% o the time ' Works closely with market management teams to support SPT program approximately 50% o the time ' Ensures timely delivery of Category Essentials training for all new market staff ' Supports Sales and Service Training program in the market.
Co-Facilitates SST and Membership training for the store staff ' Coordinates vendor clinics and ensures timeliness of vendor clinics, follow up and feedback process are completed ' Facilitates train the trainer for product category trainers in the market ' Coordinates market-level vendor and product training opportunities ' Brand advocate for REI Gear and Apparel; ensures store communication regarding REI product releases, and delivers seasonal product training THE REQUIREMENTS:
' 6 months to 1 year product related experience in a sales environment, preferably at REI ' Exceptional customer service and sales skills ' Effective facilitation and presentation skills for small (2-10) and large (20 ) groups ' Strong verbal and written communication skills; clear and concise, able to adapt style for a variety of audiences in a positive and professional manner ' Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with diverse customers and staff and across all levels of an organization ' Proven ability to function well in a team environment and actively participates and collaborates with others on one's own team and across an organization for the achievement of business goals ' Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop others; has the capacity to coach and give feedback both written and verbal ' Demonstrated knowledge of outdoor / recreational products, preferably in a retail environment ' Demonstrated knowledge of retail industry service levels ' PC and web navigation skills; MS Office and Snaplink ' Ability to lift 35-40lbs THE PERKS:
